Orenda Sylvan Lake, Founder

Lindsay Motycka brings over 21 years of experience in the dental industry, including 17 years as a dedicated dental hygienist. She completed her training at a private dental hygiene school in Ottawa and recently expanded her expertise with oral myology training. Throughout her career, Lindsay has proven her strength and determination, overcoming early doubts about her academic potential to become a skilled and confident professional.

This pivotal journey helped her discover her own courage and capabilities, and she now carries that confidence into her role at Orenda.

As a mentor, facilitator, and leader at Orenda, Lindsay is passionate about creating a nurturing, safe space where everyone feels welcome to be their authentic selves.

She believes in holding space for others to heal, grow, and reconnect with their true potential. Lindsay is also a member of the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association, the Alberta College of Dental Hygienists, and the Nest Sanctuary, where she continues her commitment to community and service.

Outside of Orenda, Lindsay’s life revolves around her family and a deep love for nature. She also enjoys expressing herself through fashion. Described by the Orenda community as vulnerable, soft, and nurturing, Lindsay embodies the warmth and care that make Orenda a safe haven for those seeking transformation.

Her long-term goal is to make Orenda her full-time career, where she can help raise collective consciousness and hold space for others to see their potential. Lindsay’s guiding philosophy is rooted in the belief that when she owns her truth, it encourages others to see and embrace theirs, fostering a community of authenticity, healing, and growth.

Four Thigs You Might Not Know About Me

  • Describe a small, everyday moment that brings you joy.

Dinner at the table with my

family, we have a tradition to share what we are grateful for, our favorite part of our

day and our most challenging part of the day. It grounds us and connects us all.

  • What's a favorite family tradition or ritual you cherish?

    On everyone’s birthday, even

extended family, we sit at the table after cake and everyone shares what they love

most about the person we are celebrating. It’s a beautiful moment to honor that

person and celebrate their many gifts. It’s so special.

  • If you could time travel, which era or historical event would you visit and why?

    70’s,

    the fashion, the music.

  • What's your favourite season and why?

Summer! I love the sunshine, all the time

spent outside at the lake. It brings me so much joy.
