With a wealth of experience in mentoring and empowering youth, Natasha is deeply committed to mental health advocacy. Her educational journey includes a BSc, BEd, and ongoing pursuit of a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. Natasha holds several certifications, including Post Baccalaureate Inclusive Education Certification, Mental Health Certification and Psychosocial Rehabilitation Certification. In her role, Natasha is actively engaged in supporting Orenda school proposal writing.

Natasha’s personal philosophy centres around empowering youth and fostering mental health awareness, driving her educational pursuits and mission. This is exemplified through her involvement with organizations such as the Calgary Distress Centre. During her year-long volunteer commitment, she played a crucial role in leading mental health and well-being workshops for educators. Her impactful contributions extend to co-facilitating youth empowerment workshops, leading girl empowerment groups, and actively participating in the collection and analysis of wellness data within school settings.

Natasha envisions a continued commitment to supporting educators in creating resilient learning spaces and advocating for holistic, life-long learning environments. She hopes to play a pivotal role in community-building, bringing awareness to the mental health challenges faced by youth in the classroom. Looking towards the future, she hopes to continue partnering with Orenda to enhance community understanding and support for youth, contributing to the positive transformation of personal and collective well-being.

Beyond her professional endeavours, Natasha finds passion in spending time with her family, hiking in the mountains, and engaging in outdoor activities such as skiing.

Four Thigs You Might Not Know About Me

  • What's a current personal project or goal?

    My personal project is currently completing my Master’s degree, and becoming a provisional psychologist in addition to my education career.

  • Share your favourite self-care ritual.

    Walking my dog. And going to the mountains – whether it be just to look, breathe, or explore.

  • Share a childhood experience that shaped you.

    Spending every summer with my family in an isolated lake community where we had to create our own entertainment, and spending time in the mountains snowboarding.

  • If you could have dinner with anyone alive, who would it be?

    My grandmother. She holds so many stories and wisdoms of her life and I want to learn more about them!
