Shelly Scheideman

President and Board Chair at Orenda

In her role, Shelly embraces the unique opportunity to navigate two Orenda worlds. She is responsible for ensuring the board's objectives are met through effective communication, collaboration, and creativity. Working closely with the Executive Director, Shelly serves as the primary contact for the Board, supporting, initiating, and advocating for the community. Her responsibilities extend to grant writing, actively fostering connections with like organizations, engaging with prospective donors, and passionately advocating for all individuals benefiting from accessing Orenda’s programs.

With over two decades of experience as a Registered Nurse, Shelly's background spans various healthcare settings and delivery systems. Her nursing practice predominantly focuses on operational leadership, quality improvement, and initiatives enhancing the patient and family experience. She holds a Bachelor of Nursing, and is currently pursuing certification in Holistic Nursing and Nurse Coaching, complemented by her existing certifications in Orenda Teaching, Reiki Level II, Certified Meditation Teaching, and nearing completion of a Yoga Instructor (200 YTT).

Beyond her healthcare expertise, Shelly's achievements extend to her genuine leadership approach, consistently leading from the heart. Her philosophy centers around the simple yet profound notion: "Breathe IN, Breathe OUT - Go Be Kind!" Engaging in all available Orenda programming, she is committed to being a catalyst for personal and collective transformation within Orenda and beyond.

Shelly aspires to serve her community fervently in her evolving role with Holistic Nursing and Nurse Coaching Certification. She envisions a future where fostering strong communities through connection, honesty, and whole healing transforms self-care, collective care, and optimizes human well-being.

Outside of Orenda, Shelly finds passion in living every moment fully, cherishing simple family time, cooking, baking, and walking.

    "Wherever You Are, My Love Will Find You" by Nancy Tillman. This book has been with me through times of deep anguish and epic joy. It is a grounding, visually stunning, impactful book that I can read through the lens of a mother, a daughter, and a friend.
